Advisors' Opinion:- [By Tim Gallagher]
Mosaic (MOS), Agrium (AGU), Intrepid Potash (IPI) and CF Industries (CF) have been moving and trading hand-in-hand, with AGU, BHP and Rentech Nitrogen Partners LP (RNF) trading the best, losing the least and rebounding the most since July 30th. IPI has sold off a lot more in the post-news period, as would be expected from a smaller, less established company with mine projects still in development. BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP) announced plans to proceed with its Jansen Mine Project in Saskatchewan, Canada, potentially tapping the largest and longest-lasting supply in the world known at this time. Scotiabank (BNS) recently commented on Jansen, stating t! hat the added supply "could add the equivalent of 18%-20% of the potash market over recent years." Nearly all of the companies mentioned have had a pretty predictable mix of upgrades and downgrades. That's what makes a market.

Other mining firms were also on the rise, tracking gains for metals prices. Shares of Anglo American PLC (UK:AAL) picked up 2.7%, Fresnillo PLC (UK:FRES) added 2.8%, Glencore Xstrata PLC (UK:GLEN) (GLCNF) put on 1.7%, and BHP Billiton PLC (UK:BLT) (BHP) (AU:BHP) gained 1.7%.

Seek dividend growth
Another important thing a good dividend investor does is to factor in dividend growth along with dividend size. If you're looking at two companies, each with a 3% dividend yield, but one has been growing its payout by 10% annually, while the other has averaged just 2%, it's clear that one is more attractive. You don't always have to choose one or the other, though. Australia-based oil, gas, and mining giant BHP Billiton (NYSE: BHP ) , for example, recently yielded a solid 3.6% and sported a five-year average dividend growth rate of 14.5%. The company has a new CEO intent on cutting costs and boosting productivity, and he's even cutting his own salary. Corning (NYSE: GLW ) , meanwhile, recently yielded 2.8% and sports a five-year average dividend growth rate of 14.9%. Its stock just jumped on a solid earnings report, featuring moderating LCD glass price declines, and growth in its Gorilla Glass.
